Tony is one of the few people in Survivor History who came in with a strategy, and loosely stuck to it.  From the Spy Shack to not telling people he was a cop, to his lying and conniving to get him further in the game.  Props to him for sticking to the strategy that took him to the title of Sole Survivor 28. He did get some assistance from idols.

But coming back he will need to change his strategy, although I would expect that no one would trust him.  He has two-time winner Sandra on his tribe, so I expect them to team up as a winner's alliance early to fend off the others.  On the other hand, someone like Malcolm or Aubry could also team up with Tony and feed his ego until it is time to backstab him, which I would expect would happen prior to the merge.  And it's also possible to use Tasha's strategy of using his paranoid to make him think something is happening when it's not.  The only problem with this is it could lead him to do something unpredictable.

Tony can be annoying but is an astute but very paranoid player.  He is one of the more intriguing players to watch this season.   It will also be interesting to see how Sarah reacts to him if they get together on a tribe switch or a merge.

Survivor 44--Final Seven

Although I am enjoying the cast of Survivor 44, I can't say I'm enjoying the season.  In the opening episode, a blunt force head trauma at 8:20 into the episode eliminating one promising character on Tika--Bruce and a rock climbing injury at 41:30, that had a lingering effect on Matthew on Ratu led to the first immunity challenge requiring the ridiculous strength of  six people being played with five and eventually four on Ratu as Brandon who had performed the Sweat challenge with Matthew who had to sit out the challenge because of his arm. Ratu unsurprisingly lost the challenge, and Soka at full strength won, which led to the first of four straight women being voted off, prior to the merge.  Matthew and Bruce were the only men to leave before going to the combined beach.   The abundance of advantages/losses, idols and fake advantages were overdone this season, and the tribe "swap" was too fixed. Episode 4 "Dirty Deed" Preview

One postscript from last week's episode.  The end result was not  unlike the rock draw in other seasons and someone deserving to stay, like Jessica last season was lost from the game.    As painful as it was to watch Malcolm leave, it's part of the game.  If J.T. hadn't done what he did, then perhaps it would have been Sierra that left the game. Tonight, Debbie appears to go berserk and get crazy with Brad and Tai, which usually means she stays.  After the twists of the first three weeks, who knows what this week's twist will be and how it will affect the game.
