Episode 10 "It's Not a High Without a Low" Review
In a highly untouted return of a prior player, (unlike the highly hyped Cochran return to Exile earlier this season). Monica Culpepper spends some time with her loved one Brad, while Sarah and Michaela again go back and forth on a decision on who to oust at Tribal Council.
MAKU MAKU Night 29-Day 30
Brad, Sierra, and Troyzan are confused by the vote when they went for Tai, while Tai is confused on shy they voted for him. Cirie, Michaela and Sarah talk about bringing in Tai to their side.
Sierra knows she is on the low end of the totem pole and confides to Sarah about the Legacy Advantage, and tells her she will will it to her if she goes. Sarah starts working out a plan to take out Brad instead of Sierra.
REWARD Challenge Day 30
Reward is a Barbecue with their loved ones, In teams of three they are tied together and have to race through obstacles while tied together, unwind a braided rope connect to a puzzle to release a key, which opens a box of bean bags which are thrown at a pyramid of blocks that has to be cleared.
Teams are drawn: Brad, Aubry, and Andrea are Orange; Troyzan, Sierra, and Cirie are Green, while Sarah, Michaela and Tai are Blue. Orange team easily wins as the other teams struggle with one of the obstacles. The winning team is allowed to choose two others, of course it's one at a time. They choose Cirie, then Sarah.
REWARD Day 30
The five players and their loved ones on the reward enjoy the burgers, steaks, hot dogs and steaks on the BBQ. Monica and Brad talk some strategy, about bringing Michaela over because of her anger in not being chosen.
MAKU MAKU Day 30
Sierra, Tai, Troyzan and Michaela talk and seemingly build an alliance that would include Brad and would give them the numbers, and they would take out Andrea. Michaela realizes she and Tai have options.
IMMUNITY Challenge Day 32
Challenge is standing on a narrow perch and balance a buoy with two sticks. 6 people fall quickly leaving Brad, Tai and Michaela to go over 18 minutes. Brad eventually wins.
MAKU MAKU Day 32
With Brad safe, the major alliance goes with Sierra and pull Tai in, Confessionals show Sarah, Tai and Michaela wrestling with taking Sierra out or going for Andrea. Tai and Michaela talk to Sierra about going for Andrea. Sarah confirms with Sierra that she will will the legacy advantage to Sarah. Sarah goes to Michaela about the legacy advantage and gets Michaela to switch.
TRIBAL Council Night 32
Andrea talks about the decision making of choosing other people for the reward. Then the talk goes to immunity. Sierra calls out Andrea as a bigger threat. Talk goes to alliances and whether they are solid or not. Michaela brings up that "WE" can go upside down and turn into "ME" very quickly. They vote and Sierra is eliminated in another unsurprising vote 6-3. Sierra wills the Legacy Advantage to Sarah as she leaves. Jeff talks about storms a coming...
NEXT TIME...
Michaela and Brad have a confrontation, Tai and Cirie talk about a big play.
The BOOT
Another easy vote after the edit tried to make it suspenseful. It really came down to Brad or Sierra, but Brad won Immunity. Sierra still willed the Legacy Advantage to Sarah even though she must have know Sarah betrayed her.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I'm sure there is discussion about it but it hasn't come into play so it's not in the edit, but why are Troyzan and Tai who are in the bottom, not using their Hidden Immunity Idols to try to get right with the numbers, especially with Sarah and Michaela pliable to join them. Say Tai played the idol this time on Sierra (he voted for her so he knew she was going) but that would then give them four (Tai, Troyzan, Brad and Sierra) vs. four (Cirie, Aubry, Michaela, and Sarah). Using the second idol next time to take out Cirie or Aubry would give them the numbers.
