Aubry might have been the biggest brain in Kaoh Rong, as we constantly saw her thinking, thinking and thinking.   She paired off with Neal, initially, but had an anxiety attack on day 2, which seemed to portend an early exit.  Peter and Liz had targeted her in the Brains first vote, thinking they had Debbie and Joe on their side, but was saved by the older pair.  Aubry then became a non-factor over the next few episodes, although her tribe after the switch lost the next two immunities.  After the first vote Aubry shut down Joe's move the move to eliminate Peter.   However the remaining members didn't trust Peter and wanted to get rid of him.  In the end she switched at Tribal and became the deciding vote out Peter after first writing down Julia.

This vacillation as well as switching should have destroyed her in any other season, and Scott was setting it up to do get rid of Aubry and Joe,  However, the next day the tribes merged and she was reunited with Neal her primary original alliance.  Again disaster struck as Neal had to leave due to an infection.  At the same time Aubry was getting annoyed by Debbie's offensive push to Beauty and seeing that it was turning off the Beauty tribe and knew that Brawn could end up taking charge.

In the first Post Merge Tribal Council Debbie and Aubrey were targets , however Cydney turned on Nick and his arrogance saving one of them from being eliminated as only three of the seven actually followed through.  This is the first real point that we see Aubry play the game.  When Debbie tells the plan for the 2nd merge vote in front of Julia who goes to the guys and tells them the plan, Aubry teams up with Cydney to vote Debbie out.  Aubry started working the game, and got more social with everyone, and one of her greatest moments was in the ceramic pots on Discs challenge when she mimicked Jason spitting as she hung in the challenge for 1.25 hours before faltering.

She was destined to go out that night as Tai and Julia were supposed to vote for her but Aubry pulled Tai aside to try to convince him to betray Scott and Jason.  Tai withheld the 2nd Idol to Scot sending him out.  

In Game Changers, Aubry is one of my favorites to win, so watch her go out early.  I think she can adjust her game to play a little more smartly and she was strong in challenges, so the combination could help her.  Watch for her and Michaela to team up on strategy early on.  An early misstep could eliminate her, but I see her going deep again.

Survivor 44--Final Seven

Although I am enjoying the cast of Survivor 44, I can't say I'm enjoying the season.  In the opening episode, a blunt force head trauma at 8:20 into the episode eliminating one promising character on Tika--Bruce and a rock climbing injury at 41:30, that had a lingering effect on Matthew on Ratu led to the first immunity challenge requiring the ridiculous strength of  six people being played with five and eventually four on Ratu as Brandon who had performed the Sweat challenge with Matthew who had to sit out the challenge because of his arm. Ratu unsurprisingly lost the challenge, and Soka at full strength won, which led to the first of four straight women being voted off, prior to the merge.  Matthew and Bruce were the only men to leave before going to the combined beach.   The abundance of advantages/losses, idols and fake advantages were overdone this season, and the tribe "swap" was too fixed. Episode 4 "Dirty Deed" Preview

One postscript from last week's episode.  The end result was not  unlike the rock draw in other seasons and someone deserving to stay, like Jessica last season was lost from the game.    As painful as it was to watch Malcolm leave, it's part of the game.  If J.T. hadn't done what he did, then perhaps it would have been Sierra that left the game. Tonight, Debbie appears to go berserk and get crazy with Brad and Tai, which usually means she stays.  After the twists of the first three weeks, who knows what this week's twist will be and how it will affect the game.
