Pre Season Rankers

As a members of the Procrastinators Club which I will eventually form, here are my Pre-Season Rankings 20-1 and my comments on how the first two episodes went for them.

In future weeks I will release an update prior to the Wednesday Broadcast.

20. Tony (19th) Goes into character right away but somehow escapes the first boot, but not the 2nd.
19. Brad--Generally Low Key but his tribe was not the focus.
18. Sandra--Claims Queen crown, ousts Tony and mouths off about it.
17. Tai--Getting too close to the Chickens.  When others get hungry he goes.
16. Jeff--Generally weak in challenges.  Laid low, but can't see this lasting.
15. Cirie--Paranoid about Ozzy coming for her, might become his target eventually.
14. Ciera (20th)--Plays the game too fast, leading to a unanimous ouster on Day 3
13. Debbie--Touted her instincts and surveillance skills.
12. Michaela--Strong personality came out when mentioned as the "alternative" to Ciera for first boot, but seemed to stabilize after that.
11. J.T.--Low key as sole returning winner on Nuku, but will get changed up next week.
10. Caleb--Was targeted for boot as ally of Tony which ultimately backfired on Ciera.  Otherwise low key so far.
9. Andrea--Didn't see much of her to make a judgement on her game play.
8. Aubry--Fell in with Tony early, potentially detrimental, but tribe switch may save her.
7. Ozzy--Suspicious of Cirie who is suspicious of him, not sure where he will land in the switch, but not on Cirie's tribe.
6. Hali--Showing some signs of brain activity, that I suspected was there from first season, I'm looking forward to her game play in switch.
5. Sierra--Talks about changing up her game. Will align with men more easily than women.  
4. Troyzan--Fluctuated a bit on alliances, need to see if Sandra is really winning him over or he has a plot to take her out.
3. Sarah--Looking to play the "Robber" side of the coin instead of the cop, too early to see development in her game.
2. Malcolm--Malcolm actually played well, shifting with the winds to not step on toes.  Wanted to ally strongly with Tony, Caleb and Aubry, but that fell through when Tony needed to go in 2nd vote.
1. Zeke--Playing it cool with Survivor Idols who don't know him.  Not sure if he's playing people (which I suspect he is) but hasn't defined any alliance yet.

Survivor 44--Final Seven

Although I am enjoying the cast of Survivor 44, I can't say I'm enjoying the season.  In the opening episode, a blunt force head trauma at 8:20 into the episode eliminating one promising character on Tika--Bruce and a rock climbing injury at 41:30, that had a lingering effect on Matthew on Ratu led to the first immunity challenge requiring the ridiculous strength of  six people being played with five and eventually four on Ratu as Brandon who had performed the Sweat challenge with Matthew who had to sit out the challenge because of his arm. Ratu unsurprisingly lost the challenge, and Soka at full strength won, which led to the first of four straight women being voted off, prior to the merge.  Matthew and Bruce were the only men to leave before going to the combined beach.   The abundance of advantages/losses, idols and fake advantages were overdone this season, and the tribe "swap" was too fixed. 37--R13--Redemption Island

Rank: Returnee #13 Season # 22 Title:  Survivor: Redemption Island Location: San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua Broadcast: Spring, 2011 New Players:  16 Returning Players: 2 Rob Mariano and Russell Hantz Winner:  Rob Mariano Final Tribal Council:  3 Players 9 Jury Initial Tribes: Ometepe and Zapatera Merge: at 12 Murlonio Jury: at 12 Loser of Duel 7 on Redemption Island Premise:  Players voted out would not leave the game and would have a second chance at "Redemption" through a series of Duels on Redemption Island Players returned at the Merge (Matt Elrod) and with 4 remaining Players on Day 37 (Andrea Boehlke) The Redemption Island idea was used in foreign versions of Survivor prior to coming to the US version, and seemed benign enough.  It might have worked better had it been all new players than with two returning players with a feud to settle.  Rob Mariano and Russell Hantz faced off and challenged each other at the Season 20 Heroes vs. Villa...

Episode 4 "Dirty Deed" Preview

One postscript from last week's episode.  The end result was not  unlike the rock draw in other seasons and someone deserving to stay, like Jessica last season was lost from the game.    As painful as it was to watch Malcolm leave, it's part of the game.  If J.T. hadn't done what he did, then perhaps it would have been Sierra that left the game. Tonight, Debbie appears to go berserk and get crazy with Brad and Tai, which usually means she stays.  After the twists of the first three weeks, who knows what this week's twist will be and how it will affect the game. So rather than guessing what's going to happen, let's get right to the rankings.  Awful week as my #2 left the game because of the extra twist. 20. Ciera (14) 19. Tony (19)  18. Caleb (15) 17.
