Episode 8 "A Line Drawn in Concrete" Review

The poignant moment was weak and more manufactured by Jeff's narration.  He also let them the losing team out of  swimming back and brought out a boat to take them back.  This allowed Sarah to find the Secret Advantage that Michaela missed.

In the end we FINALLY had a surprise game changing move, although it will probably not help Sarah to the end or with the votes as we all know that flippers never win.

MAKU MAKU Night 24

Debbie talks about how easy the vote was, and now that they have Debbie, Sarah, Sierra, Brad, Troyzan, and Tai they will pick off the other five.   Andrea was out of the loop, and talks to Zeke who tells her he didn't think they were going to keep him for much, and decides to stay witht he majority alliance.  He talks to Sarah who wants to work with him.

REWARD Day 25

Two teams of five will go over a series of obstacles then use a grappling hook to retrieve five rings.   Reward is a seaplane trip to the Usalla Islands.  Brad, Debbie, Sierra, Andrea, and Aubry form the Blue Team, while Cirie, Troyzan, Sarah, Zeke and Tai form the Orange team.  Michaela is not chosen and cannot participate in the reward and is not happy, and felt teams stayed with their alliances.  Below her bench feet is a Secret Advantage.  Blue team gets a big lead as both Brad and Sierra get across before Tai reaches mat.  Troyzan picks up some of the gap while Aubry struggles.  Sarah passes Aubry and essentially ties it for Debbie and Zeke.  Zeke struggles with the balance beam as Debbie and Andrea both get to the platform before he does, and Blue gets the hook and the rings. Cirie struggles in the water.  Sarah returns to the water and helps Cirie finish.   Blue wins the reward. The rest of Orange go to help Cirie finish.  Blue helps her onto the final platform.

Jeff tries to make a big moment out of it, of course.    Michaela doesn't get the Secret Advantage, but Sarah sees it as they bring out a boat for them, and picks it up and puts it in her water shoe, before getting on the boat.

MAKU MAKU Day 25
Cirie apologizes to the team.  The rest of her team supports her.   Sarah reads her Secret Advantage and finds that it gives her the ability to steal a vote from someone else, at any Tribal, and must use it prior to their being only 4 people left.  She realizes that this advantage has never been played correctly and plans to play it right.  Sarah talks to Cirie about Brad and Sierra are running the show.  Cirie wants to make Sarah feel she is on the bottom.  Sarah looks at a final three with Sierra and Brad, and Cierra tells her she will lose.   Sarah realizes she needs to make a move, and talks about the alliance of Cirie, Zeke, Aubry, Michaela and Andrea and her, but she's not sure now is the time to make a move.

REWARD Day 25
After the Seaplane ride, Brad talks about his strategy of leaving Troyzan and Sarah off his team so they could be his eyes and ears while they were split up.  Sierra and Brad talk to Andrea about what is going on with her and Zeke.  Andrea feels he turned on her for no reason, and feels she has nobody.

IMMUNITY Challenge Day 26

For immunity, you need to balance the letter blocks of IMMUNITY on a wobbly table attached to a rope.  Tai spends a long time trying to stack the blocks in order while serveral others get 2-3 letters on.   Sarah drops at 4.  Aubry drops at 5.  Andrea drops at 7, Brad drops at 7 while Troyzan has 1 letter left.  His alliance rootes for him and Troyzan wins immunity to go along with his Hidden Immunity Idol.  Sierra's post challenge confessional targets Andrea.

MAKU MAKU Day 26

Michaela is still a target, by being annoying and eats a lot, but Andrea is the threat, so Brad and Sierra tells Debbie, Troyzan, Tai and Sarah that they will go for Andrea and tell the others it's Michaela.   Sarah is not happy she was not asked, and considers a move.  She talks to Zeke but they need to bring in Andrea.   Andrea is on board.  Sarah talks to Sierra and feels comfortable with her, and tells her the final three are those two and Debbie.  Debbie meanwhile tells Aubry to vote for Michaela, saying that Sarah doesn't trust her.   Aubry doesn't buy it and tells Sarah what Debbie says. Sarah wrestles with her decision and will decide at tribal.

TRIBAL Council
They first talk about the Cirie and the reward challenge.  Andrea speaks out about how she is on the bottom.  Zeke calls out the majority 6.  Debbie says they came to a unanimous decision and everyone had a chance to talk.  Sarah talks about being on the right side of the numbers.  Debbie states that there is a strong six.  Zeke looks for an opening or weakness in the 6.  Michaela goes on a tirade, about going out swinging, and a switch happening while there are numbers.

The vote goes down to Sarah, as Jeff reads alternating Andrea, Debbie five times, Michaela calmly munches on a snack (popcorn?).   Jeff reads the 11th and deciding vote, and gets applause from Michaela, Sierra, Brad and Troyzan are puzzled as Debbie gathers her torch to be snuffed.  Hali and Ozzy on the Jury seem to be ecstatic.

NEXT TIME...
The tables are turned but Sierra approaches Cirie and Andrea who try to bring her in for a bigger move, while Zeke talks to Brad and Troyzan about making it interesting.

The BOOT

Debbie got pretty smug and the edit of the tribal council seemed to show her hitting all of the right buttons on Sarah.  For the first time this season we truly had an unsure vote.   In Debbie's final confessional and the Ponderosa video, she did not realize who flipped their voter.
